Holy Moly. It’s getting close.

Did you see our trip on Snapchat to Blush & Blow? As I type this, my freshly manicured red nails are a perfect complement to the words I am typing. Did you see our trip to Blush & Blow on Snapchat?

For today’s Real Bride Diary, I thought I would keep it light and talk a bit about my plans for hair, makeup, and accessories for the wedding.

July 7th, Three Weeks to Go

– Current obsession: Try to replace nerves with excitement.

Marko’s current obsession – He still plays the wedding playlist!

– We’re mostly shopping for gifts this week For the people who have helped us on our journey.

As with the wedding decor, my style is more about an overall vibe than a specific lip color or hairstyle.

The look is boho with a touch of glam, sunkissed makeup with dramatic eyes, and eclectic accessories (rampant).

When I began planning my look, I wanted to make it a more polished version of my normal style.

Accessories

When it comes to shoes and jewelry, I would wear them any day of the week.

I am going for deep pinks and lots of greenery in my flower crown, which I often wear to the pub on a Wednesday night. I want it to make a bold statement without being too big.

I have a collection of gold and rose-gold rings and some gorgeous beaded tassel earrings in khaki from J Crew. You can see these earrings below.

My shoes are chunky suede sandals with lace-ups. (Fun fact: As I sit here at my desk, I am breaking them in, but they are actually quite comfortable! ).

The Makeup

Over the past year, my face has been a major source of worry for me. It may sound dramatic, but those who have struggled with acne know how bad skin can make you feel and affect your confidence.

While I was aiming for a dewy and sunkissed appearance, I didn’t know if I could pull it off with so much coverage.

After persistently visiting my GP (trying four different creams and tablets), and then seeing a dermatologist and being incredibly strict about my skincare routine, I am finally (mostly) pimple-free. It could all change when we fly back to get married. I have to see an airplane to start crying!

Cara, at Brown Sugar in Dublin, is the best. I will be getting my makeup and hair done the morning of the ceremony. I preferred to go to the salon than to have professionals come to the hotel.

She understood my pain as a sufferer of bad acne. From my trial, I knew she would make me feel and look beautiful on my wedding day.

Here are some celebrities that I hope to emulate with my makeup.

Celebrity Makeup Inspiration

Hair

My hairstyle for my wedding will be fairly simple. Down, wavy, done!

I have long, straight hair, and I wish I could get glamorous waves to start the day and perhaps go to sleep with some beachy ones.

Beauty Treatments

I have never indulged in beauty treatments. I do my nails myself, and I am terrified of facials because of acne. I get my hair cut about every eight months, and my heels are often in a bad state.

In the past few months, I have become completely addicted to beauty salons.

Yesterday, I had a beautiful Shellac manicure (it was done at Blush & Blow, a great salon in London with amazing staff and the coolest bathrooms!) Next week, I have an appointment with the hairdresser. The week after, I will be getting eyebrow threading. I’ve been using Brow Bar growth oil to grow my brows! ).

On a Sunday, I love to get a luxury pedicure.

It’s nice to be able to indulge a bit, spend a little money, and take care of myself. While I might not get as many manicures after the wedding, I will certainly continue to indulge in pro treatments.

It would be best if you took advantage of this opportunity to pamper yourself. You have my permission to indulge!

Listen to Aleisha and me on the Bridechilla podcast, as we have lots and lots of wedding talk while enjoying facials and wine!
